Lifetime Brands has appointed Daniel Siegel as president. Since joining the company in 1992, Siegel has held various positions, including senior VP sales and executive VP. He also serves on the boards of directors of Grupo Vasconia S.A.B., Lifetime’s 30%-owned partner company in Mexico, and GS Internacional S/A, the company’s 40%-owned partner company in Brazil.

PureColor, an all-natural wood stains leader, hired industry veteran Chris Bundy as its newest account executive. Bundy brings more than 25 years of coatings industry experience to the growing PureColor team.

Previously, Bundy served in leadership positions for Gemini Coatings and Valspar. He has extensive experience managing sales team experts serving large wood product manufacturers, according to the company.

Home Depot's best-seller list

The Home Depot's top merchant had a lot more good news than bad news to share with investors regarding the retailer's first quarter performance.

"We are pleased with our performance in the first quarter with strength in our business across the breadth of the store," said Craig Menear, executive VP merchandising. The only departments with negative comp-store sales were indoor and outdoor garden -- the result of unusually cold weather in parts of the country, he said.

Haier names new sales and marketing executive

Haier has named Rian Cain senior VP of sales and marketing for Home Appliances and Home Comfort. Mr. Cain comes to Haier with over 30 years of experience in the appliances industry, including 22 years with Maytag Corp.

He will report to Ma Chunyu, COO of Haier America, and will lead all product marketing, sales and branding initiatives for Home Comfort and Home Appliance products.

The challenging return to normalcy

Hyphen Solutions has appointed Ken Pinto, a former supply chain executive for Toll Bros. and other national home builders, as its VP supply chain. Pinto brings 21 years of supply chain management expertise to Hyphen's real estate and software management team. He most recently served as the director of supply chain at Toll Bros. and has held similar positions at Standard Pacific and Pulte Homes. Pinto also heads the Supply Chain Benchmark Group, which is a coalition of the purchasing leaders of some of the largest home builders in the United States.

Rocky’s promotes HR executive

Springfield, Mass.-based Rocky’s Ace Hardware promoted Karen Gravelin to the position of VP corporate administration.

Gravelin, 56, joined Rocky’s Ace Hardware in September 2011 as director of human resources. In her new role, Gravelin will be responsible for information technology, organizational development and training in addition to human resources, payroll and benefits.

Back in May, the retailer’s leadership realignment created two groups -- a Customer Experience organization led by Gregory Bridgeford, and the Operations organization, led by Rick Damron. One position still missing is a chief merchant.

Sears' new director is no stranger to 'Moneyball'

DePodesta is currently VP player development and amateur scouting for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball, but he is more famous as the young, forward-thinking, statistics-obsessed Oakland A's executive upon whom the Jonah Hill character was partially based in the recent movie "Moneyball."

Home Depot’s product parade

From innovations that use advanced lithium-ion technology to old standby push mowers, some of Home Depot’s top-selling products in the third and fourth quarters span the gamut of home improvement categories.

During Home Depot’s third-quarter conference call in November, executive VP merchandising Craig Menear identified several products that are selling briskly or are expected to perform well during the fourth quarter.
