HD Supply to sell industrial business unit

HD Supply has entered into an agreement to sell its industrial pipes, valves and fittings (PVF) business to Shale-Inland Holdings, an affiliate of investment firms TowerBrook Capital Partners and The Stephens Group. The purchase is expected to close in March 2012. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Ferguson acquires HVAC company

Newport News, Va.-based Ferguson Enterprises has purchased the assets of SG Supply Co., a Calumet Park, Ill.supplier of plumbing products, water heaters, hydronic heating, and pipe, valves and fittings for plumbing and mechanical contractors. The purchase price of the transaction, reported by Industrial Distribution, was not disclosed.

MJSI HydroClean awarded patent

Shorewood, Ill.-based MJSI, Inc. announced the issuance of patent 7,926,511 by the US Patent Office for the HydroClean toilet fill valve’s Float Lock assembly.

The Float Lock is an easily movable lever on the float arm that turns the water "Off" or "On" from inside the toilet tank. This invention allows minor repairs to be made inside the tank in a dry environment and eliminates the need to shut the water supply off with the external shut-off valve or at the main water shut-off for the entire building.
