Atlas Copco Dynapac has appointed Jerry Hackett to the position of regional sales manager – south central U.S., effective immediately. 

He will report to Steve Cole, VP of the Road Construction Equipment Division for the Commerce City, Colorado-based company that specializes in sales, parts, service and rental of portable compressors, generators, tools, attachments and paving equipment used in the construction and demolition industries.

Paul Colliton has rejoined Huttig Building Products as senior director of product management. 

Colliton was a key part of the Huttig management team from 1994-2007, holding positions of sales manager, district sales manager, regional director and regional VP.

In his new role, Paul will lead product management and programs around CPG Building Products decking, railing, PVC trim and pavers. He will report to Greg Gurley, VP product management, marketing and national accounts.

Tractor Supply named Chad Frazell as senior VP human resources. 

Prior to joining Tractor Supply Company, Frazell was senior VP human resources for Shopko Stores. From 2008 to 2011, he served as VP human resources for Kohl's Corporation, where he began as a store manager in 1999. Prior to 1999, Frazell served as a store manager and assistant manager for Target Corporation. He began his career with Wal-Mart Stores, where he served as an assistant manager and sales associate.

Houston-based hardware distributor Handy Hardware named Brian Sarno as VP sales.

Sarno’s past experience includes positions at Interline Brands and W.W. Granger. According to the company, Sarno has deep experience in the wholesale and distribution industries. 

The company made the announcement at its recent Fall Market in San Antonio.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Wastequip has hired Andrew Bardsley to the newly created role of VP retail for the Toter brand, in which he will be charged with leading the team's new Retail Business Unit.

With Bardsley in place, Toter's consumer business is poised to work toward its new long-term growth initiatives, including a move that will involve shifting all of its manufacturing operations to the U.S. Bardsley will be at the helm of Toter's "Made in America" initiative.

American Standard Brands is investing in its design team via three new hires at its Piscataway, New Jersey headquarters, where the design studio is located.

Emilie Williams, Greg Reinecker and Gabriela Ravassa have joined the team, reporting to new VP design Jean-Jacques L’Hénaff.

Williams has been brought on board as associate design director for faucets. Previously, she served as senior designer at Ignite USA, working for the Contigo and AVEX housewares brands. She also had roles at Delta Faucet and Masco Corporation.

Barbour currently is executive VP of Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions business division and an officer of Lockheed Martin.

Anderson, California-based Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) hired Tom Takach as VP of operations for the windows division of Sierra Pacific Industries – a family owned and operated wood products business. 

In this new position, Takach will oversee manufacturing and operations for Sierra Pacific’s Red Bluff, California Windows Plant as well as the two newly acquired Hurd and Superseal Window and Door plants in Wisconsin.

Lincolnshire, Illinois-based Klein Tools hired James Pultorak as VP manufacturing. He will replace Chris Hargan, current senior VP manufacturing, who will retire at the end of 2014.

Pultorak brings over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and operations in a variety of industries, including hand tools, tool storage, printing, packaging, roofing and automotive.

Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Do it Best Corp. announced the retirement of one of its senior leaders while also transitioning another proven executive into a new position.   

Effective Oct. 24, Do it Best VP of Lumber and Building Materials Quent Ondricek will retire his position, while Gary Nackers, currently director of program development for LBM, will move into that role, effective Sept. 15.

As is its annual custom (now in its fourth year), Ace Hardware Corporation recognized a new spate of Ace stores in its 2014 "Coolest Hardware Store" awards. Six stores nabbed the title out of 4,850 Ace stores worldwide, named officially during Ace's Platinum Conference held in Las Vegas.

Among the four keynote speakers locked down for the event is Michelle Desiderio, VP innovation services for Home Innovation Research Labs, a market research, consulting, product testing and accredited third-party certification agency that serves the home-building space.

Muskegon, Michigan-based energy-efficient lighting company EarthTronics has named Tripp Smith to the post of VP sales. Smith brings over 30 years of lighting experience to bear on his new role, in which he will be charged with increasing sales opportunities and profit, as well as expanding market share in North America.

Over 22 years of his career were spent at GE Lighting, where he performed in various sales and leadership capacities in the company's retail and commercial lighting businesses.

Massachusetts-based lighting company Osram Sylvania announced that it would be expanding it’s lineup of LED light bulbs. This month, Lowe’s will start stocking the seven new bulbs.

Among the company’s new LED bulb offerings are the ones meant to replace 40- and 60-watt incandescent bulbs. The 60-watt LED bulb puts out the same amount of light as a 60-watt incandescent with 8.5 watts of electricity.

Lowe's is catering even further to its pro customers with the launch of ProExpress, an on-demand delivery service for emergency and last-minute supplies.

"For pros, time is money," said Mike Horn, VP ProServices. "The ProExpress program allows us to offer our pro customers the ultimate convenience and flexibility by delivering the materials they need, when they need them."

Exterior building products manufacturer Ply Gem appointed Eric Spence senior VP sales and marketing for the Ply Gem Windows group.

In this newly created role, Spence is responsible for expanding Ply Gem Windows’ sales and marketing efforts, aligning the two functions under one common structure. He reports to Ply Gem Windows president Art Steinhafel, and is located at the Ply Gem corporate and windows group headquarters in Cary, North Carolina.

When a local television station in Chicago broke a story earlier this month about workers picketing over a company’s bathroom policy, John Fitzgerald, VP marketing at Chicago Faucets found the story interesting.

“The company was the WaterSaver Faucet Co.,” Fitzgerald said. “We compete with them in a niche area of faucets, and I’m always interested in what my competitors are doing. I had no idea that a few days later, our own company would mistakenly become the subject of that story.”

Barrington, Illinois-based EcoPlanet Bamboo Group has nabbed three former Weyerhaeuser executives in its latest hiring spree.

Of these, former Weyerhaeuser Solutions president Marvin Risco has been named group president. He has held multiple positions at Weyerhaeuser over the years, ranging from financial director for Weyerhaeuser Forestlands International to VP international operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Portland, Maine-based Emery-Waterhouse, the hardlines distributor acquired by Ace Hardware Corp. in February, announced the new hire of Charles Chibante as VP of Sales.

Chibante comes to Emery-Waterhouse bringing over 20 years of experience in retail, operations, marketing and leadership, including 13 years with Wal-Mart in various leadership positions, as well as eight years as a partner in a family owned and operated construction company.

Michael H. McGarry, currently executive VP of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based PPG Industries, has been appointed to the post of chief operating officer.

McGarry will have executive oversight responsibility for all of PPG’s strategic business units and operating regions and for the information technology (IT), environment, health and safety (EH&S), and purchasing functions. He will remain based at PPG’s global headquarters in Pittsburgh and will continue to report to Chairman and CEO Charles E. Bunch.
