Spectrum Brands Holdings announced that its Rayovac battery division has added two new products to its family of Virtually Indestructible Lights -- the Virtually Indestructible Sportsman Spotlight and the Virtually Indestructible Sportsman Lantern.

Kwikset -- which is part of Spectrum Brands Holdings -- is sponsoring Richard Childress Racing and driver Ryan Newman during the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season this year.

Per the partnership, Kwikset will be the primary sponsor and paint scheme for Newman's car during the Kansas Race in Kansas City on May 10. The Kwisket logo will also be displayed on Newman's No. 31 car for every race this season.

Spectrum Brands Holdings is following up on its plans, announced in January 2012, to move its headquarters to the Discovery Springs area of Middleton, Wis., a Madison suburb.

The move includes its world headquarters, its technology center and several North American divisional operations. More than 500 full-time employees have been implicated in the transition.

Marking the latest entry in the booming smart home market, Kwikset (a brand of the Hardware & Home Improvement (HHI) division of Spectrum Brands Holdings) has announced that its Kevo smart lock technology is available for pre-order.

In partnership with UniKey Technologies, Inc., Kwikset makes it possible to unlock a deadbolt using a mobile app and the touch of a finger. According to the company, users will be able to use the technology without taking their phone out of their pockets or purses.

Spectrum Brands Holdings, a global consumer products company, said it completed the acquisition of the Hardware & Home Improvement Group (HHI) of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. for $1.4 billion in cash. 

The agreement was first announced back on Oct. 9.

HHI is a major manufacturer and supplier of residential locksets, residential builders’ hardware and faucets with leading positions in key North American markets and a portfolio of renowned brands, including Kwikset, Weiser, Baldwin, National Hardware, Stanley, Fanal, Pfister and EZSet.
