LaMirada, California-based Makita has been recognized for outstanding battery recycling efforts with the Call2Recycle Leader in Sustainability Award.

Call2Recycle, North America’s first and largest battery collection and recycling program, created the Leader in Sustainability Award for companies that maintain a strong commitment to sustainability by steering hazardous materials away from local landfills. This is the second year Call2Recycle has distributed the award.

The company also says it is helping the homeowner fill every socket in the house with the appropriate, low-energy bulb.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Panasonic Eco Solutions North America as a 2014 Energy Star Partner of the Year -- Sustained Excellence Award.

Panasonic's energy-efficient ventilation fans are the star of the day, which Panasonic assures will meet designed airflow requirements when installed, providing ventilation verification assurance. At up to 23.3 CFM/Watt, the fans have the highest efficacy of any Energy Star-rated ventilation fan.

LG is highlighting 14 of its duct-free air conditioners that have earned the Energy Star "Most Efficient" 2014 designation.

Five of those 14 hail from the LG "Art Cool" duct-free split series, which brings design-minded appeal together with energy-efficient features.
