Power Home Remodeling Group, an East Coast-based provider of exterior home renovations, has expanded its operations to Marlborough, Mass., where it will continue to serve the greater Boston metropolitan area. Power has already hired more than 50 employees in the Boston region and plans to create at least 100 jobs in 2011 and another 100 to 250 in 2012, the company said in a press release.

York, Pa.-based Wolf announced a rebate program on Deckorators CXT Railing. 

During the “Go Pro CXT Railing Rebate,” contractors will receive a $100 Visa card for every $500 they spend on CXT Railing. Purchases must be made by Sept. 30.

CXT Railing is available exclusively from independent dealers in Wolf's service area of 18 East Coast states.

True Value CEO Lyle Heidemann offered some friendly advice to a reporter recently. “Bring your camera to Philadelphia this year,” he said. 


Philadelphia is the site of the Chicago-based co-op’s Fall Market, Sept. 23 to 25. Here, True Value will be displaying its Destination True Value store design and format for smaller stores. In the Philadelphia and nearby East Coast markets, the co-op is expecting strong attendance from dealers with smaller-than-average footprints.

Eastern Seaboard consumers are lining up for batteries, generators and other storm-related products as Hurricane Irene bears down on the eastern United States.

A CBS News report on the storm said Home Depot's emergency preparedness team has been working and watching the storm closely, and have already sent 500 trucks to supply East Coast stores with high-demand products. CBS quoted Steve Holmes: "Product is selling just as fast as it arrives."

The idea of a nationwide chain of green building material outlets has been dreamed about by many eco-minded business people and investors. But it’s never gotten past the one-off stage, where successful green retailers push past their local markets with a successful model that can work in multiple cities across the country. Until now. 


The merger of Ecohaus and Green Depot, announced on Feb. 7, is a West-meets-East event that unites three of the pioneers in the green-building movement. Four, if you count Greenmaker in Chicago, which Green Depot purchased in 2008.

York, Pa.-based Wolf, major supplier of kitchen cabinets, announced it will distribute Deckorators' full line of railing systems, balusters, post covers and caps to dealers within Wolf's 18-state East Coast footprint.    

The move takes effect March 1.

Deckorators is a brand of low-maintenance rail systems, aluminum and glass balusters, rail posts and caps, and lighting kits. Deckorators rail systems are code approved (CCRR  - 0161) and guaranteed by a lifetime warranty against chips, checks, cracks and peels.
