Orchard Supply plans to open in Fresno, again

San Jose, Calif.-based Orchard Supply Hardware Stores Corp. plans to open a new Orchard Supply Hardware store in Fresno, Calif. on April 14th. 

The store will be Orchard’s 88th, and the fourth store in Fresno. Grand Opening events include a ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 7 a.m., as well as day-long vendor demos, spin and win, kid’s activities and door prizes, including a patio set and a Weber Summit Grill.

Central Garden & Pet names General Counsel

Central Garden & Pet Co. has named George Yuhas as its new general counsel, effective immediately. Yuhas will report to William Brown, Central's chairman and CEO. 

Yuhas has been a partner specializing in litigation at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP for many years. 

"George represents an important addition to our senior management team," said Brown. "His judgment, team orientation and legal expertise will help us manage our business in a prudent and effective way. I look forward to working with him closely."

Central Garden names new executive

Central Garden & Pet has announced the appointment of Frank Palantoni as executive VP and president of the pet segment, effective Feb. 14, 2011.  Palantoni will report to William Brown, Central's chairman and CEO.
