Whirlpool renews deal with Beazer Homes

Whirlpool Corp. renewed its exclusive appliance partnership with Beazer Homes to provide an array of Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Maytag brand appliances to Beazer homes throughout the United States.

New home orders up at Beazer

Beazer Homes reported 1,215 orders for new homes for its third fiscal quarter of 2011, a 24% increase from the same period last year, and a 4% increase from the prior quarter. Total home closings from continued operations were 791 homes, a 49% decrease from the same quarter in 2010, but a 40% increase from the second quarter of this year.

Beazer appoints CEO, VP and CFO

Atlanta-based Beazer Homes has named Allan Merrill as president and CEO. He has also been elected to the board of directors. Robert (Bob) Salomon has been appointed executive VP and CFO.

Beazer Homes swings to a loss in Q1

Atlanta-based builder Beazer Homes posted a first-quarter net loss of $48.8 million, compared with net income of $48 million in the same quarter last year.

Sales were down 48% to $110.3 million in the first quarter, which ended Dec. 31.
