(Jul. 21) Pittsburgh-based Koppers Holdings, manufacturer of carbon compounds and treated wood products, has announced the appointment of Leroy Ball as VP and CFO, effective Sept. 1.

Ball replaces Brian McCurrie, who was appointed SVP global carbon materials and chemicals, effective May 1. McCurrie will continue his role as acting CFO until Ball’s appointment in September.

Walt Turner, president and CEO of Koppers, said, "I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Leroy Ball as our new CFO. His experience in international business and the chemical industry will be a great fit for Koppers, and I am confident Leroy will continue the Koppers tradition of strong financial management."

Ball most previously served as SVP and CFO of Calgon Carbon Corp. since 2002.
