(Oct.
7)
84 Lumber has closed its High Point, N.C., store but reopened a unit in Madison Heights, Va., according to press reports
. The move is part of a consolidation that will serve the Lynchburg and Danville markets from two stores, according to company spokesman Jeff Nobers. The other 84 Lumber location in the area is Winston-Salem, N.C.
The recent closing of Taylor Brothers Lumber, part of the Roper Bros. chain, has increased 84 Lumber’s market share, Nobers said.
