(Sep. 14) Central Garden & Pet has named Sherry Perley to the position of VP human resources. She will report to William Brown, Central’s chairman and CEO.

Prior to this appointment, Perley was the VP human resources at Arc International, in its Mikasa division. She has also held senior human resource positions for Warnaco, Cadbury Schweppes, Snapple and Nine West Group.

“Sherry brings to the company extensive global business experience with leading branded products companies,” said Brown. “She will be a valuable member of the management team as we pursue new growth strategies and manage change.”

Perley succeeds Stanley Bulger, who will continue to be responsible for safety, health and environment, real estate and other special projects.

Based in Walnut Creek, Calif., Central Garden & Pet is a supplier of lawn, garden and pet products under a variety of brands, including Pennington, Kaytee, Amdro, Sevin, Ironite, Norcal and New England Pottery.
