Despite the preponderance of consumer electronics at the aptly-named 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, taking place currently in Las Vegas, certain brands representing the home improvement industry were present in considerable force.
Samsung was in attendance with updated home appliances, including a brand new lineup of refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers known as the Samsung Chefs Collection. The company also unveiled new laundry appliance pairs and vacuum cleaners, the former boasting 5.6 cubic feet of capacity in both front- and top-load configurations.
Kwikset, maker of the Kevo Smart Lock, also had its own surprises in store. The company announced the upcoming release of a remote Bluetooth-enabled locking technology this summer.
Dacor announced its Discovery iQ 48-in. Dual-Fuel Range, which the company touts as the first-ever range to feature an integrated, wireless tablet. The technology will enable customers to control the range via smart phone or tablet.
Whirlpool was also in attendance with a full range of smart home displays, ranging from an interactive cooktop surface to microwaves that respond to the imaginations and needs of customers.
