Pittsburgh-based Versatex Trimboard has announced the availability of a 1½-in.-thick, single-extruded, cellular PVC sheet with the launch of Versatex Max.
The product is available in nominal 48-in. widths and four standard lengths; 8 ft., 12 ft., 16 ft. and 18ft. Versatex Max sheets are promoted as offerig the same tight cell structure, density, core consistency and +/- 1/32-in. thickness tolerance found in all other Versatex products, the company said.
“For years OEMs, millwork customers and custom home builders who do ornamental work with PVC have pushed manufacturers for something thick enough to reduce lamination costs in the shop and the field,” said Versatex president John Pace. “We pride ourselves on innovation, so we’re thrilled to have made a 1 ½-in. sheet a practical reality.”
The technology is designed to save millwork shops and OEMs time and money by greatly reducing lamination steps during fabrication, the company said. It is ideal for custom mouldings, rail systems, pergolas, corbels or other decorative elements that require thicker cellular PVC.
Versatex Trimboard is manufactured by Wolfpac Technologies of Pittsburgh.
