Sherwin-Williams to close some Flex Bon stores

Sherwin-Williams will close nine of 19 Flex Bon paint stores in Florida, merging them with nearby Sherwin-Williams store locations, according to a report in the (southeast Florida) News-Press.

“In most of the cases we have a Sherwin-Williams store down the street, within half a mile,” Mike Conway, director of communications for Sherwin-Williams, told the newspaper.

Flex Bon paints were produced by Fort Myers, Fla.-based Johnson Paints until the company was acquired by Sherwin-Williams in 2002.

Flex Bon’s business operates as a separate business unit in the Southeastern Division of the Sherwin-Williams’ Paint Stores Group. Stores still sell Flex Bon paints, which are formulated specifically for hot, humid weather.
