PPG opens new residential coatings facility in Nevada

PPG Industries, maker of Pittsburgh, Lucite and Olympic paints, has opened a new 95,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Reno, Nev.

The facility, situated on 22 acres, is meant to serve the company’s West Coast customer base, which includes independent dealers and company-owned stores in 12 states.

The facility will manufacture more than 15 million gallons of water-based latex paint per year at full capacity, the company said in a statement. Additionally, the building incorporates environmentally sound, “green” building technologies, the company said.

Based in Pittsburgh, PPG had sales of about $11.2 billion last year.
