Menards plans another Omaha unit

Menards plans to build a store at the eastern edge of Omaha, Neb., its sixth in the metro area, according to the Omaha World-Herald. The new unit will be located at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 370 in a retail development called Wickes Southpoint.

Just south of the proposed Menards is a future Wal-Mart Supercenter, according to the newspaper. Wal-Mart received approval for a new store in early 2007 but has not yet obtained a building permit.

The Eau Claire, Wis., chain of home improvement stores is also building a new unit at 72nd and L streets in Omaha. That Menards project is already under construction.
