Joseph Harper retires from Sterling board

Joseph Harper, Sr. has retired from the board of directors at Sterling Construction Company, effective June 11.

Harper has been involved with Sterling since the days of its predecessor, joining the company in 1972, six years before its from from Sterling Heights, Michigan to Houston.

His roles at the company have ran the gamut from project management to executive roles such as CFO, treasurer, and most recently, president and COO.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Joe for more than 15 years," said chairman Maarten Hemsley. "His, along with Pat Manning's leadership have enabled Sterling to grow to the size it is today, with a breadth of core competencies and a geographic reach that have positioned it very well for the future. The entire Board joins me in thanking Joe for his many years of service to the Company. We wish him and his wife, MaryAnn, the very best for his retirement.”
