Indiana Governor taps Do it Best CEO for council

The 2011 Do it Best May Market returned to Indianapolis and the recently expanded Indiana Convention Center. Members entered the market floor Friday night for the two-hour Sneak Peek event.
At the 3M booth, a racecar equipped with video monitors allowed visitors to simulate a race around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

On the market floor, MSA Safety Works displayed its colors. The Do it Best event took up a total of 450,000 sq. ft. of the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center. 
Pallet specials, such as these bird feeders from Hiatt Manufacturing, were one of the big draws at the Do it Best market.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels appointed Do it Best CEO Bob Taylor to the Indiana Economic Development Corp.'s board of directors.

The announcement was made earlier this month during an IEDC board meeting. 

The IEDC describes its mission as growing and retaining Indiana businesses, while attracting new investments to the state. It consists of 12 members appointed by the governor. 

Taylor has been CEO of Do it Best since 2001. Prior to that, he ran Taylor's Do it Best in Virginia Beach, Va.. Do it Best is based in Fort Wayne, Ind., and holds spring and fall markets each year at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Taylor's term is effective immediately and will end May 2, 2013.
