In an internal memo to Home Depot associates, company CEO Frank Blake said chief marketing officer Roger Adams is leaving the company “to explore other opportunities.”
Adams oversaw numerous marketing initiatives in his time with the retailer, including the company’s NFL partnership and the Home Depot “True Stories” campaign. Adams served as chief marketing officer since October 2006; prior to that, he served as senior vp-marketing for the company.
John Ross, vp-advertising for Home Depot, has been named interim head of marketing following Adams’ departure.
“John has been an integral part of the Home Depot team over the past 10 years,” Blake said in the memo. “During this interim period, John will report directly to me and will lead all marketing and advertising programs and initiatives for the company.”
Earlier this week Home Depot’s vp-inventory planning and replenishment, Anne Frazer, left the company to serve in a commensurate position with book and media retailer Borders.
