Weyerhaeuser has tapped Fred Dzida to assume the role of president, Weyerhaeuser Company Limited, the company's wholly owned Canadian subsidiary.
Effective June 16, Dzida will assume his new responsibilities as well as retain his role as VP Canadian Timberlands.
"Fred brings tremendous experience, skill and leadership to his new role," said Doyle Simons, Weyerhaeuser president and CEO. "I wish to thank Anne for the significant contributions she has made to our success during her 20 years with Weyerhaeuser."
With over 35 years of forest industry experience under his belt, Dzida has hands-on experience in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Saskatchewan. He's held numerous roles with Weyerhaeuser, most recently as head of the company's Canadian Timberlands organization.
Anne Giardini, Q.C., who has served as Canadian president since 2008, is stepping down later this year. Until then, she will stay on as an officer and director of Weyerhaeuser Company Limited.
