Curtis, McDonald Brothers to be honored at Summit

Curtis Lumber of Ballston Spa, N.Y., has been chosen as the Multi-Unit Pro Dealer of the Year for 2008 by Home Channel News. The 22-unit chain will be honored at the Pro Dealer Industry Summit, along with the Independent Pro Dealer of the Year, McDonald Brothers of Southern Pines, N.C.

Ballston Spa, N.Y.-based Curtis Lumber operates 22 units and showed an 11 percent sales increase on the Pro Dealer Top 350 Industry Scoreboard. The fifth-generation business has successfully expanded its operations with the purchase of Gregory Supply, a four-unit dealer with locations in both New York and Vermont.

Five-unit dealer McDonald Brothers, based in Southern Pines, N.C., showed a 14.3 percent sales increase on the Top 350 list. In addition to running a reload yard, McDonald Brothers operates a fleet of vans that sell tools and fasteners at job sites. The annual awards will be held in conjunction with the 2008 Pro Dealer Industry Summit Oct. 1 to 3, 2008, in Chantilly, Va., jointly presented by the NLBMDA and Home Channel News.
