Goldblatt president Derek Seitz is leading the brand beyond masonry and drywall and into flooring and paint sundries. "We feel now is the time to start playing offense," Seitz said. 

The Inventors Spotlight area of the National Hardware Show helped connect inventors to buyers who recognize ideas that are ready for primetime garden tools; sharpeners, cleaners and even a sink called Hold it and Fold it were on display. 

New on the National Hardware Show floor in 2011 were banners proclaiming energy-efficient products. Such a banner was flying at the NineStars booth promoting energy-efficient trash cans.
