Grills hit with product recall

(Dec. 1)

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of certain Perfect Flame SLG Series Gas Grills sold at Lowe's. There are about 663,000 of the Chinese-made grills in the United States and another 1,700 in Canada.

Lucas Innovation of China was listed as the manufacturer of the grills, and L G Sourcing of North Wilkesboro, N.C., as the importer, according to the announcement.

The problem with the grills is that the burners can deteriorate causing irregular flames. Also, the lids of some models can catch fire. According to the CPSC, there have been about 20 reports of the lids catching fire, about 20 incidents of minor burns and one report of an eye injury requiring surgery.

The outdoor propane or natural gas grills were sold exclusively at Lowe's starting at price points of $200.
